I got up super early to shoot some photos of the Memorial Bridge for an On Site project, but the weather and light didn’t cooperate like I had hoped. Did get this shot of the sunrise with some seriously funky clouds …
… and this close up of one of the Arts of War statues. I think this one is Valor (but don’t quote me on that.)

Ruthie’s adorable wiener dog mix, Monty, is a little firecracker. It’s astounding that he stood still long enough for me to take this photo.
Quick through-the-windshield snap of the Sacramento Tower Bridge. We had a late lunch of yummy Mexican food there at Tres Hermanas.
The house Brian and his two grad student roomies share has this backyard that’s looks like it’s been growing wild for twenty years resulting in some of the biggest rose bushes I’ve ever seen. Brian and Ruthie have recently tamed a good chunk of it and planted a little garden for the skunk garden gnome to wander around in.
I flew out to SFO to meet my pal Brian, an initially camera-shy, smarty-pants PhD candidate at UC Davis. We had some decent tapas at Esperpento in the Mission district before driving out to Davis. It’s a cute neighborhood kinda joint, but it doesn’t really compare to the yumminess that is Estadio.
I must have walked past this bike rack at the southern Dupont Circle Metro entrance a dozen times before I noticed the hidden, yet obvious message.
A couple of the metal sculptures along 17th St. presumably by the same artist, but maybe not.
I don’t have the patience nor the telephoto lenses for nature photography, but this little guy was unfazed by my hanging out a few feet away, so I fired away. Lazy city birds.
